Disable and Prevent Flash Player Update Prompts Forever
Option 1 – Windows Only Hold the Windows Key and press “ R ” to bring up the “ Run ” dialog box. Type “ services.msc “, then press “ Enter “. Double-click the “ Adobe Flash Player Update Service “. For the “ Startup type “, choose “ Disabled “. Select “ OK ” and close the “ Services ” window.
Option 2 – Windows, Mac, & Linux Navigate to the following location depending on your operating system. 32-bit Windows – C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash 64-bit Windows – C:\Windows\SysWow64\Macromed\Flash Linux – /etc/adobe/ MacOS – /Library/Application Support/Macromedia Open the “ mms.cfg ” file using a text editor such as Notepad. Change the line that says “ AutoUpdateDisable=0 ” to “ AutoUpdateDisable=1 “. Close and save the file. Adobe Flash should no longer prompt for updates.
