Job summary
The Red Hat Digital Experience Platforms team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in Beijing, China. In this role, you will build cloud-based tools and services to enable Red Hat customers to discover, adopt, and scale with Red Hat Open Hybrid Cloud solutions. You should be proactive, creative, collaborative, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced, distributed environment. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll collaborate within and outside the department to develop and maintain specific and compelling applications using JavaScript and frameworks, and other relevant technologies.
Primary job responsibilities
Analyze business requirements and prioritize
Design and implement frontend and backend software and services
Effectively communicate with stakeholders and project team members to demonstrate the work and receive feedback
Use technologies that are appropriate for the platform
Ensure ongoing quality of the application codebases through bug fixes, refactoring, and test automation
Collaborate with other developers across multiple departments and technology stacks for cross team projects
Provide technical suggestions on architecture of complex solutions
Improve team processes
Provide onboarding support and ongoing mentoring to new or junior associates
Required skills
5+ years of experience in software development or 3+ years of experience in web frontend and backend development
Expert in building web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or Typescript
Experience with JavaScript frameworks like React or AngularJS
Experience with back-end technologies like Node.js
Good communication skills; fluent written and verbal English
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or equivalent
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, OpenShift is a plus
Experience with Linux or UNIX platform is a plus
Experience with jenkins, Git, GitHub is a plus
Experience with Python, shell, or Java is a plus
