visual effects（VFX）：指在电影、电视剧、游戏或广告中，通过拍摄技巧与/或后期制作（尤其是数字合成与CG）创造、增强或替代画面中无法（或不便）真实拍摄的视觉内容与场景效果。常见包括爆炸、怪物、外星场景、环境扩展、抠像合成等。（在口语中也常与 special effects 混用，但 special effects 更偏向现场物理特效。）
