state school（英）指公立学校/国立学校：由政府资助并管理、通常不收学费（或费用很低）的学校，面向公众招生。（在英式英语中最常用；美式英语里更常说 public school。注：英式英语里的 public school 往往指“私立名校”，含义相反。）
